Search
Simple search
Simply enter the terms you wish to search in the search-box at the top right, then click on search.
You can use quotation marks to narrow down the exact words or phrases for your search. For example:
- A search for Algerian without quotation marks will also search for Algeria and Algerians
- A search for Algerian with quotation marks will exclusively search for the term Algerian.
You can also use star (*) to replace a letter in your search inquiry if you do not know the exact spelling or if there are multiple ways of spelling the name.
Advanced search
The advanced search is available by clicking on the + at the top right, next to the search engine input field.
This search function allows you to search into specific fields and combine multiple queries with the following operators:
- AND: allows you to search for documents matching both the preceding search inquiry and the following one. Each result will always coincide with both inquiries.
- For example: Morocco AND school. The documents found will always deal with both subjects. Results will include both keywords.
- OR: allows you to search for documents matching the preceding inquiry or matching the following one. Results must coincide with at least one of the two search inquiries.
- For example: Morocco OR school. This request finds all the documents which contain the word “Morocco” as well as documents containing the word “school”, and those which contain both.
- NOT: allows you to search document matching the preceding search inquiry excluding results with matching with the text in the following input field.
- For example: Morocco NOT school. This request finds all the documents which contain the word “Marocco”, but excludes all the documents containing the word “school”.
