Conditions for re-using data from the digital library of the AIU:
General conditions of re-use:
The vast majority of documents in the AIU digital library are reproductions of works, which fall under the public domain found in the library of the Alliance Israélite Universelle.
In accordance with French Law No. 78-753 of July 17, 1978, their non-commercial re-use is free and open. It is governed by the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license ( Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International). The source must be worded as follows: author, title, date, Bibliothèque de l’Alliance Israélite Universelle, code..., permalink.
The commercial re-use is subject to authorization and settlement of a reproduction right. Requests for commercial use should be directed to: biblio[at]aiu.org. The source must also be worded as follows: author, title, date, Bibliothèque de l’Alliance Israélite Universelle, code..., permalink.
Digital documents are identified by a permanent address (permalink). To make a permanent reference to a document in the digital library, use the address indicated to the left of the detailed record (Permalink field).
In application of the French law of March 11, 1957 (art. 41) and of the Intellectual Property Code of July 1, 1992, any partial or total reproduction for collective use of the contents (texts, graphics, photos, etc.) of the digital library of the AIU is strictly prohibited without prior authorization. The site “bibliothèque numérique de l’AIU” constitutes a work protected in France by the Intellectual Property Code, and abroad by the international conventions in force on copyright.
Reproductions of documents protected by copyright belonging to a third party (eg the Harrus collection) are subject to a special re-use policy. These documents cannot be re-used, except in the context of private copying, without the prior authorization of the rights holder.
